SW 901 P/P Trauma Informed Care
This course will provide a general overview of trauma informed care and approaches to treatment. Biological, psychological, cultural, spiritual, developmental and social components will be discussed. Treatment of both primary and secondary trauma will be explored. Psychiatric diagnoses related to trauma, considerations related to medication use, institutional trauma, interdisciplinary collaboration, and trauma informed research are addressed. Supervision and self-care to prevent vicarious trauma will be highlighted. Prerequisite:
