ARCH 319 Global Urban Ecologies I

The first of a two-course sequence, this course introduces and explores the ecological systems that affect and are affected by human settlements across the world, themes of urban ecology, environmental and urban planning practice, sustainability, development, growth management, transportation, land relationships, open space, urban design, social networks, and public health. Through a series of case studies, readings, and discussions, this lecture/seminar will explore these vital, interconnected relationships that affect the health and quality of life of all of Earth's inhabitants, flora, and fauna.
