ARCH 412 Anatomy of Buildings I

An introduction to the notion of buildings as structured organisms possessing bones (frame), skin (enclosure) and vessels (environmental systems) and their relation to design and technology. This course focuses on the integration of structure, enclosure, and systems in a composite whole-a building. The art and science of building, with an emphasis on formal, aesthetic, and technical determinants.
