PSYC 431 Abnormal Psychology

Introduces the study of maladaptive behavior from a number of theoretical perspectives - e.g., psychoanalytic, behavioral, biological, and cognitive. Reviews current research concerning the etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illness. Covers major DSM-5 adult diagnoses. Introduces stigma reduction and recovery-oriented views of mental illness. (Recommended background for certain internship settings.)
