COUN 570 Contemporary Issues Seminar

This seminar-style course focuses on the advanced knowledge and skills required for the real-world work of professional counseling. Content is based on the clinical and research expertise of the instructor and is not included in other course offerings, addressing advanced topics in counseling including, but not limited to advanced diversity issues, clinical supervision, advanced counseling techniques for children and adolescents, and private practice ownership. The requirements are grounded in best practice and include select readings, hands-on experiences, and practical assignments. Students will be encouraged to tailor assignments to their preferred area of interest and specialization in counseling.
