RED 526 Teaching Content Area Reading
Students will become familiar with the recent theories regarding the reading process and will extend their knowledge on how children read to learn. Emphasis is on the place of metacognition in the reading act and the relation that exists among the teacher, the student and the text. Instructional strategies are presented to enable the teacher to make practical application of the theories and models presented.
