ENGL 399G ST: Shakespeare's Italy
This class will explore the many plays that Shakespeare set in Italy, considering the plays in their own right and the ways that early modern English people thought about Italy, its culture, and its people. As we tour these cities, we will consider their history and culture and consider how being present in the places Shakespeare imagined gives us new insights into his plays. Restricted to study abroad students only.
