EVST 101 Introduction to Environmental Studies

EVST 101 is a foundational course for all Environmental Studies students. It will provide a broad background in the science of environmental issues which affect climate change. Issues will include air and water pollution, ocean acidifications, ways to improve carbon footprinting and overall reduction, recycling and reuse proposals. Methods to study these issues will be reviewed with a focus on information literacy, scientific veracity, and critical thinking. Later in the course, faculty from related disciplines will present and discuss the impact of these scientific challenges to the need for stewardship, advocacy, and policy changes. These aspects will reflect potential areas of study in all three discipline tracks.
