FREN 250 Intermediate French
Designed for students who have completed 3-4 years of high school French. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are reviewed and practiced as building blocks toward Intermediate level proficiency and communication. Communicative activities, based on cultural information and authentic materials are supported by vocabulary sets and grammatical explanations to facilitate the learning process. All activities increase cultural awareness and help students personalize and relate the material to their own experiences and professional goals. Through interactive language assignments, students collaborate in pair and group activities while improving their interpersonal communication skills. Reading and writing practices allow students to understand and compose original sentences, paragraphs, and compositions. Cultural readings and discussions lead to a greater understanding of and respect for the people throughout the francophone world.
