ARCH 216 History and Theory of Architecture II

The second in a series of three interrelated courses, this course examines global architectural history and theory from the beginning of the 16th century (c. 1500 CE) to the beginning of the 20th century (1900 CE) through built projects, drawings and theoretical texts.The course traces critical shifts in architectural thinking and production in response to major technical, aesthetics socio-cultural, political, religious, and philosophical changes associated with modernity and the rise of the Scientific and Industrial Revolutions.
