SPAN 313 Intro. Hispanic Cultures & Civilization

The primary objective of the course is to introduce and explore the historical, geographic, political, and aesthetic background relevant to the study of Hispanic cultures. Further, this course serves to develop the student's cultural literacy with regard to the Hispanic world. As an introductory course, not only will students review foundational histories, but the course will also provide techniques of textual criticism and knowledge of research materials available about Hispanic topics broadly defined. The principal purpose of Spanish 313 is to prepare students to do more advanced work on the cultural manifestations of the Hispanic world.
