SW 989 Glbl Prsp Soc & Adm Prct

This course will examine the need for international social work, given the global context and concerns. The course will also examine four perspectives, namely: global perspective, human rights perspective, ecological perspective, and social development perspective, which are crucial for international social work practice. An important requirement of this course will be a study abroad program during spring/summer break, intended to enhance students??T understanding of human rights, social, and economic justice issues and social problems, and also the strategies followed in the host country in dealing with such issues. (Prerequisite: SW 601.)
