This course explores the meanings and expression of music, health, wellness, and healing in the context of South Korea. The focus of the course is on developing an understanding of individuals, families, groups and communities with diverse cultural backgrounds. The focus will be on the role that music plays within these communities. This program will allow students to build an understanding of Korean culture, learn and take workshops from professors and practitioners of music and music therapy in South Korea, grow intercultural communication skills.
