HIST 399P ST: Human Rights in Modern WorldýHistory

This course will explore how human rights emerged as a major cause for activism and a central point of international politics from the early 20th century until today. Topics covered include the creation of major human rights conventions charter, the role of human rights in Cold War struggles, human rights organizations such as Amnesty International, and changing views of human rights and international law since the 1990s.
