MUSC 229B String Ensemble
String Ensemble works without a conductor, with faculty playing alongside students. This enables all members of the ensemble to adopt a mutually responsible role for the musical decisions and the high quality of the playing. It allows for intimate playing and a democratic decision-making process. Repertoire is selected from the major string orchestra literature. The demands of the repertoire will encourage students to produce their highest level of ensemble playing. String Ensemble is required for all string majors.
