PA 349 Introduction to Pharmacology
The Introduction to Pharmacology course provides the student an opportunity to examine foundation of pharmacotherapeutics. The relationship between action of drug and its effect on the body will be emphasized. Topics covered during this course include pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics, drug legislation, evidence-based-medicine, age-related dosing, geriatric pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, laboratory finding related to pharmacology, topical products, drug therapy of the autonomic nervous system. Lecture, discussion, review activities, journal reviews and case studies will be utilized to present the material.
