PA 501 Clinical Correlations I
Clinical Correlations I is the first of a two-course series. Students are encouraged to apply critical thinking skills and correlate information learned in other courses to develop a foundation to practice primary care medicine. During this course students learn to take a medical history, document physical exam findings, and practice writing SOAP notes. Students learn about medical documentation across the lifespan: prenatal, perinatal, pediatric preventative care, adult preventative care, and older adult preventative care. Students learn to formulate a differential diagnosis, assessment and plan and perform end of semester OSCEs. Each student participates in one or more community experiences per semester.
