PA 553 General Surgery
General Surgery explores commonly encountered surgical protocol for the PA student. Students learn about a selection of common surgical specialties and diseases requiring surgical intervention, with an emphasis on surgical anatomy, surgical planning, and perioperative care. This course introduces the PA student to the OR environment and culture with the goal of preparing the student for their surgical rotations. Students gain knowledge of frequently performed surgical procedures.
